Stabbing behind Halifax library
A young offender was taken into custody for questioning late Thursday afternoon, police confirmed, after an 18-year-old man was stabbed on a walking path behind the Keshen Goodman Public Library in the Clayton Park area of Halifax .
Police say just after 1 p.m. the victim was sprayed with pepper spray and was then stabbed.
Police say the incident was not random, and that the victim and the suspect are known to each other.
He made his way to the library where police and an ambulance were called.
The victim was taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police.
A spokesman for the Halifax Regional School Board told CBC the victim is not a student at Halifax West High School, which is near the library.
