Shots fired on central Halifax street

Halifax Regional Police blocked off a part of Harris Street in Halifax on Wednesday afternoon after reports of multiple gunshots in the area.

Halifax Regional Police blocked off a part of Harris Street in Halifax on Wednesday afternoon after reports of multiple gunshots in the area.

Const. Brian Palmeter said officers were called to the area of Maynard and Harris streets at approximately 1:34 p.m.

"Several people were observed running from the area but at this time there are no reported injuries," Palmeter said in a release.

"Investigators have discovered that a building was struck with multiple bullets but at this time it’s not believed the building was the target of the shots."

Master Auto, an auto repair business at 2383 Maynard St., was hit with at least one bullet.

Officers are searching the area.
