An SUV slammed into a school bus in West Chezzetcook on Tuesday morning, but no children were hurt.

RCMP said the bus was stopped when it was rear-ended on Les Collins Avenue.

There were 25 elementary students on board, according to the Halifax Regional School Board. They were all assessed by paramedics and cleared to leave.

RCMP said the woman driving the SUV received minor injuries.

The students were loaded onto another bus and taken to Porters Lake Elementary. Paramedics were sent to the school as a precaution.

A school board spokesman said one parent went to the school to take her child to hospital as a precaution.

RCMP continue to investigate the crash in the rural community east of Dartmouth.
