School board workers apply for conciliation
Unionized workers in seven school boards across Nova Scotia have applied for conciliation in their contract talks with the provincial government.
The 3,700 workers are represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
The union represents employees in every job classification other than teachers in the province's school system.
The Nova Scotia School Board Council of Unions bargains on behalf of the seven boards.
The council says there are a number of outstanding issues that need to be resolved before deals are reached.
