Recall issued for some Heinz and Mott's children's food products
There have been no reported illnesses from the consumption of the recalled products
A national recall is in effect for Heinz's apple, broccoli, pea and brown rice children's food, as well as Mott's Fruitsations unsweetened strawberry Fruit Rockets product, due to potential broken seals which would cause spoilage.
The Heinz product comes in a 128 millilitre package and the codes on the product are 2016 MR 03 or 2016 MR 04, and have a UPC of 0 57000 02990 6.
The Mott's recall affects both the single container, as well as the four pack. The single package is 90 grams, has a code of NO2615 G and has a UPC code of 0 65912 00019 7, while the four pack has the code NO2615 and has a UPC of 0 65912 00020 0.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is advising people to throw out the recalled products or take them back to where they were purchased.
CFIA cautions that consuming spoiled food may cause symptoms such as an upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea.
The agency says there have been no reported illnesses from the consumption of these products.
The products are available for sale across the country.
