RCMP investigate Cole Harbour stabbing
A 46-year-old man was stabbed in Cole Harbour early Saturday morning, police say.
An anonymous caller phoned police at 2:48 a.m. to say two people were fighting outside a home on Panavista Drive, Halifax RCMP Cpl. Scott MacRae said.
While dispatchers were fielding that call, an officer in the community encountered an injured man, MacRae said. The officer was dealing with a motor vehicle collision near Panavista Drive and the injured man said he had just been assaulted.
MacRae said the officer could tell the man had some sort of stab wound.
The man was taken to hospital with a non-life threatening injury to his chest. He was treated and later released.
Police were still investigating the case but MacRae said a number of people were in custoday and charges were likely.
