RCMP find 850 marijuana plants in Annapolis Valley

Two people are in custody after police found hundreds of marijuana plants in two homes on Wednesday.

Major drug bust took place in two homes

RCMP in the Annapolis Valley seized more than 850 marijuana plants from two homes Wednesday.

Police said they found 600 plants at a home in Aylesford. A 68-year-old man was arrested and faces drug production charges.

Later in the day, they searched a second home in Harbourville.

There, they discovered another 250 plants and two rifles, which police said were not safely stored.

A 38-year-old woman was taken into custody at the second home.

She faces drug and weapon charges.
