Racist graffiti found on Yarmouth legion sign

Yarmouth RCMP officers are investigating racist graffiti spray painted on a sign at the town's legion branch.

Yarmouth RCMP officers are investigating racist graffiti spray painted on a sign at the town's legion branch.

It was discovered Wednesday on a sign outside branch 61.

"We haven't had any vandalism here for years … I've been here for 50 years and there's been nothing like that. We have stuff laying around all the time, nobody bothers it," said Gilbert Parker, president of the branch.

Parker said he considers the graffiti an attack on all veterans in the area.

He will speak to RCMP as part of their investigation Thursday afternoon.
