A car crash on Quinpool Road in Halifax on Saturday night caused extensive damage to three vehicles and a storefront.

Halifax Regional Police say a black BMW was speeding west on Quinpool Road when it tried to pass on the inside lane, struck two parked cars and pushed a van up onto the sidewalk and into the front of a nail salon.

The BMW landed on the sidewalk.

Hamish Gordon came across the scene after the accident and he called the BMW a "souped-up sports car."

He said one of the vehicle's wheels ended up 30 feet away from the car.

The site was a mess, with "glass and debris all over the ground," said Gordon.

Police say four men fled the scene.

No injuries were reported.
