Premier's mother dies at age 92
Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter will be away from his duties for a few days following the death of his mother.
Jennifer Stewart, a spokesperson for the premier's office, said Florence Dexter died Tuesday at the Queens General Hospital in Liverpool, N.S. She was 92.
Stewart said the premier's mother had been living at a retirement home in Liverpool and had entered hospital within the last few weeks.
She said a funeral will be held on Saturday.
Deputy premier Frank Corbett will assume the title of acting premier until Dexter returns to work on Monday.
