Police probe possible shot fired at Halifax bus
Driver noticed hole in the windshield
Halifax Regional Police are trying to figure out if a Metro Transit Access-A-Bus was shot at on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the bus was travelling on Highway 102 near the Washmill Lake overpass just before 2 p.m. when he noticed a hole in the windshield of the bus, said Halifax Regional Police Const. Pierre Bourdages.
There were two people on board — the driver and a passenger — when the incident happened. No one was injured.
Bourdages said the Access-A-Bus was heading downtown to Summer Street and the incident was reported after the bus arrived at its destination.
The bus was taken to the Metro Transit garage in the Burnside Industrial Park to be examined, he said.
The Halifax Regional Municipality said it has offered counselling services to the driver, which is the standard procedure for similar incidents.
