Police identify woman from Highway 4 collision

Police have identified the woman who died in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 4 Tuesday.

The woman who died in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 4 Tuesday has been identified by RCMP.

Grace Joan Parker, 86, of Central West River died after the car she was driving veered off the roadway over a steep embankment and struck a concrete culvert in Pictou County, said Cpl. Andrew Joyce in a release.

Emergency personnel used the Jaws of Life to remove Parker from a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. She was taken to the Aberdeen Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
