A man was taken to hospital after he was hit at a marked crosswalk in Dartmouth Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the scene at Portland Street and Spring Avenue around 6 a.m.

The impact of the man shattered the car’s windshield and tore off the vehicle’s mirror.

Police said he only has minor injuries but is being kept in hospital in Dartmouth for observation.

The driver was ticketed with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. There's no word on the driver's age or gender.
