Pedestrian hit and injured at Dartmouth crosswalk
A driver faces a fine after a pedestrian was struck in a marked crosswalk Friday morning in Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police said it happened at 11:41 a.m. as the vehicle was turning off Caledonia Road and on to Main Street.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital, but police said the 23-year-old woman's injuries are not life-threatening.
The driver - who police said is a 76-year-old woman - was given a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk
Police said the driver would be charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian, which means a fine of $687.41 for a first offence.
