Pain at the pumps as gas jumps 6 cents

Drivers are paying a lot more for gas this morning as the price of regualr unleaded gasoline jumped more than six cents per litre.

Regular now 135.9 cents per litre, diesel at 133.9

Drivers are paying a lot more for gas this morning as the price of regular unleaded gasoline jumped more than six cents per litre.

In the Halifax Regional Municipality the price of regular gas went from 129.5 cents per litre to 135.9 cents per litre when this week’s prices were set at midnight Thursday.

The jump marks the highest price for gas in the Halifax region since March.

The price of diesel also jumped Friday to 133.9 cents per litre, up from 128.1.

In Cape Breton, drivers are paying even more. The price of regular unleaded is now 137.9 cents per litre, with the price for diesel now sitting at 138.8.

The price of gas in Nova Scotia is regulated by the Utility and Review Board.
