Murder suspect arrested

A 19-year-old from Halifax who's spent the past two months on the run from a murder charge has finally been arrested. Police found Brian James Bremner Thursday night during a drug stake out, and charged him with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Parker Vaughan Sparks.

A 19-year-old from Halifax who's spent the past two months on the run from a murder charge has finally been arrested. Police found Brian James Bremner Thursday night during a drug stake out, and charged him with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Parker Vaughan Sparks.

Sparks was killed outside the Copper Penny Tavern in Halifax on March 8.

Sgt. Don Spicer of Halifax Regional Police says Bremner, who also uses the name BJ Marriott, is one of four people also arrested on drug charges. Police say they seized $180,000 worth of marijuana, growing equipment, cash and weapons.

Two other 19-year-old men and a 26-year-old woman are also due in court in Halifax Friday.
