Moose-hunting lottery opens in Cape Breton
The Cape Breton moose hunting lottery is now open.
This year, 345 licences are up for grabs. Last year, about 11,000 applicants entered the annual draw.
Selected hunters can participate in one of five hunting seasons, which start this fall. There are five moose management zones within Victoria and Inverness counties, the only counties in the province where moose hunting is permitted.
Natural Resources Minister Charlie Parker says hunters applying for the draw must pick the zone and season they want to hunt in when they apply. The deadline is June 16.
