Montague Road death ruled a homicide
A man found dead in a home on Montague Road near Dartmouth on Saturday was killed by a gunshot, police say.
RCMP identified the victim as the homeowner, Paul Livingstone, 58.
Livingstone's death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy was performed Sunday, Staff Sgt. Scott Warnica said in a news release.
Livingstone's next of kin have been notified.
RCMP do not believe this was a random act of violence, Warnica said, and are asking anyone with any information to call the Integrated Major Crime unit at 490-5333.
Investigators from the Integrated Major Crime Unit as well as the Forensic Identification Section are still on scene processing evidence.
Livingstone's body was found Saturday by someone who also lives at the address on Montague Road.
His death is the 13th homicide in the Halifax Regional Municipality in 2011.
