Missing trapper found after night in the woods

Search and rescue teams have located a missing 79-year-old in Guysborough County.

A missing trapper from Queensport was found safe and sound Friday morning after a night in the woods.

The 79-year-old went to set his rabbit snares Thursday. He was reported missing at 8:15 p.m.

About 25 members of a ground search-and-rescue team from the Strait went into the woods Thursday night along with an RCMP dog, but they were unsuccessful.

Friday morning, they were joined by a team from Sydney who quickly located the man.

"He's in good health, and maybe a little bit embarrassed I was told, because he's a seasoned hunter," said RCMP Sgt. Alain Leblanc.
