A 35-year-old man was stabbed outside the Old Mill Tavern in Dartmouth early Saturday morning, police say.

Halifax Regional Police Staff Sgt. Bill Morris said there was a dispute among several people at the bar on Wyse Road before the stabbing happened at about 1 a.m.

"It looks like a group of males got into an argument inside the establishment. They went outside where a fight ensued. They went back inside and another fight ensued," Morris said.

"It looks like they went back outside where the male got stabbed and the injured party went back inside and 911 was called."

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

There were a lot of people in the bar at the time of the attack, Morris said, and police are trying to locate and interview witnesses.
