Police say a 21-year-old man was stabbed after an altercation near a banking machine in Dartmouth early Friday.

Police say a 21-year-old man was stabbed after an altercation near a banking machine in Dartmouth early Friday.

Halifax Regional Police said the stabbing happened on Portland Street just after 2 a.m.

Officers found the victim when they responded to a call about a man "shouting and hollering" while walking on Irishtown Road, police said in a statement.

The 21-year-old was taken to hospital with two stab wounds, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

The investigation continues.
