Const. Dal Hutchinson said the RCMP received a complaint just before 6 a.m. Friday that the 48-year-old man threatened someone over the phone.

He said officers went to the home on Highway 1 following another alleged call at 9:40 a.m. that was more serious in nature.

Police say they don't know there if are weapons in the home.

They've been re-routing traffic on Highway 1 and have asked several neighbours to leave their homes until the incident is resolved.
