Man pleads not guilty to attempted murder of wife

A Hebbville man remains behind bars after pleading not guilty to attempted murder of his wife.

Randall Whynot, 59, entered his plea Wednesday in Bridgewater provincial court.

He remains in custody at the jail in Dartmouth pending a bail hearing on June 14.

Whynot is accused of trying to kill his wife, Patricia Whynot, at their home on Highway 3 on March 4.

He was arrested shortly after she was stabbed in the chest, abdomen and leg.

The 46-year-old woman sustained serious injuries. She was treated at the hospital in Bridgewater and later airlifted to Halifax.
