Man killed in Cumberland County truck crash

A 51-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning near Pugwash, police say.

Cumberland District RCMP spokesman Const. Dal Hutchinson said a truck drove off Crowley Road in Pugwash Junction around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Two people were in the truck when it crashed into woods alongside the highway, he said. The passenger, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Two other Nova Scotia men died accidentally over the Labour Day weekend. One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Tantallon, while the other man drowned while snorkeling in Hirtle Lake, Lunenburg County.
