Man injured in Dartmouth shooting

An investigation into a shooting in Dartmouth Wednesday led police to an unco-operative victim and a burning vehicle.

An investigation into a shooting in Dartmouth Wednesday led police to an unco-operative victim and a burning vehicle.

Shots were heard on Ilsley Avenue near the New Rodeo Lounge at about 8 p.m., Halifax Regional Police said.

Officers found a red SUV that appeared to have been in an accident. There was a gun and bullet casings on the ground, along with a bumper from a second vehicle.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in the area.

A 31-year-old man later showed up at a hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police said neither man is co-operating with the investigation.

Just before 10:30 p.m., someone reported a burning car on Old Sambro Road. Police said it was the one that fled the shooting in Dartmouth hours earlier.

The investigation continues.
