Halifax man, 57, to appear in court Monday to face multiple weapons charges
A 57-year-old Halifax man is facing multiple firearms-related offences after police received a call about a man carrying a rifle in a neighbourhood north of the Halifax Common.
Halifax Regional Police received a complaint Sunday around 10:30 a.m. that several people were trying to disarm a man carrying a rifle near Woodill and Maynard streets.
After arriving, police determined that those involved parties had left the street and gone into a home in the 2400 block of Maynard Street.
After speaking to those involved and locating the rifle that was spotted outside, police arrested a 57-year-old man.
He now faces a number of firearms-related offences and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday.
No one was injured in the incident.
