A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 57-year-old woman in Chester Basin.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Bruce Hill said the suspect was arrested Monday morning in the homicide investigation of Victoria Rae Brauns-Buckley, who was found dead in her home on March 2.

Hill said the suspect is in custody at a facility in Lunenburg County. No other details were immediately available.

Brauns-Buckley had two children, including a son who was believed to be living with her, friends and neighbours told CBC News.

Brauns-Buckley was originally from the United States.

She recently retired from her job as an Air Canada flight attendant, and in her spare time she made nautical-themed jewelry that she sold on the internet.

RCMP have not released Brauns-Buckley's cause of death.
