Four people were forced from their home Saturday when a lightning bolt struck their house in New Glasgow.

The Canadian Red Cross said the bolt hit the house on Trenton Road around 12:30 p.m., sparking a fire in the upper floors. The Red Cross said the flames were contained to the attic roof and second storey.

The house contained four apartments. The Red Cross said the rest of the house sustained smoke and water damage.

No one was injured.
