High bacteria levels have closed the Kinsmen Beach in Lower Sackville for the third time this summer.

The Halifax Regional Municipality said the beach will reopen once tests show bacteria counts are within safe levels.

This is the third time the beach has closed this summer.

The beach was closed for three days earlier this month and for two days at the end of July.

Kinsmen Beach is one of 22 beaches run by the Halifax Regional Municipality
