Winery worker to be on the ballot after resignation of Morgan Wheeldon

The NDP have found a new candidate in winery worker Hugh Curry to run in the federal riding of Kings-Hants.

The previous NDP candidate, Morgan Wheeldon, resigned last month after party officials "approached" him over a 2014 Facebook post being used against the New Democrats by a Conservative Party attack website.

Wheeldon's Facebook post suggested Israel was involved in ethnic cleansing.

His replacement is an Acadia University graduate raised on a Hortonville dairy farm.

"I'm proud to provide the people of Kings-Hants the opportunity to vote for real change, and actually get it," Curry is quoted in an e-mailed statement released by NDP headquarters.
