HMCS Athabaskan has returned home after two months away.

The vessel and crew left in early September, spending 53 days away from home and 37 days at sea for Operation Caribbe.

During its time away, the Athabaskan was involved in six intercept operations, one of which resulted in the seizure of 820 kilograms of cocaine.

According to a news release, the Royal Canadian Navy has deployed a total of seven warships as part of Operation Caribbe since 2006, resulting in the seizure of more than six tonnes of cocaine.
