Halifax robber used needle to rob store, says police

Halifax Regional Police arrested a woman Saturday after they say someone held up a convenience store with a needle.

Halifax Regional Police arrested a woman Saturday after they say someone held up a convenience store with a needle.

The police said the incident happened at One Stop Shop Convenience Store on Windmill Road.

In a release, they said a woman threatened the man who was working in the store with the needle when somehow the cash register fell to the floor.

The police said the woman punched the man in the face and fled the scene with cash.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested later on Gottingen Street in connection with the incident.

She is being held in custody until Monday, when she will appear in Dartmouth Court.

The police said she'll be charged with assault with a weapon, threats, robbery and weapon offences.

The police said the employee was treated at the scene by emergency responders.
