A Halifax pimp who exploited young girls has been granted full parole.

Florence Muriel Young, 37, pleaded guilty in August 2014 to five prostitution-related charges, three of which involved living off the avails of prostitution of minors.

Young was sentenced to six years in prison, but served just 16 months before being granted day parole.

In a hearing last week, the Parole Board of Canada decided Young had done well enough on her release that she should be granted full parole.

While on day parole, Young has been working as a cleaner and taking courses to upgrade her education.

The Parole Board says Young presents a low-to-moderate risk to reoffend. The board has imposed restrictions on Young to reduce the risk even further.

Those conditions include that she stay off drugs, stay away from her victims and stay away from anyone under the age of 18. She also must avoid sex trade workers and stay off the internet.
