Halifax bank held up for 2nd time in 2 weeks
A man faces charges in connection with a bank robbery on Thursday afternoon in downtown Halifax.
Just before 1 p.m. police responded to a robbery at the CIBC on Barrington Street. A man entered the bank, demanded money from staff and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
"I can't go into specifics, but I can credit a driver with Casino Taxi for leading us to the location where we were able to find this individual and ultimately leading to the arrest," said Const. Brian Palmeter.
Investigators were able to track the man to the area of Spring Garden Road and Robie Street where he was arrested at about 1:15 p.m.
Some money was recovered at the time of the arrest.
The 25-year-old man faces charges of robbery and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court Friday.
The same bank was robbed two weeks ago. The suspect in that robbery was found dead in Moncton a few days later.
