Water will be unavailable in Granville Ferry for at least 72 hours
Municipality asking people to boil water, plans to provide bottles
The Municipality of the County of Annapolis is asking people in Granville Ferry, N.S., who rely on the community's water supply to boil water and expect to go without it for at least 72 hours due to "unforeseen circumstances."
On Tuesday morning, the municipality sent out a notice advising people to "immediately conserve and store water." It said the water would be shut off around noon and a later notice warned people not to consume the water.
It did not explain what prompted the situation, but said the county is trying to resolve it as soon as possible.
The municipality also said bottled water will be available at the Annapolis Royal fire hall between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
