Golf's Skins Games coming to Halifax

Nova Scotia's tourism minister says the province will get valuable exposure by spending $200,000 in support of a high-profile golf event to be held in Halifax.

Nova Scotia's tourism minister says the province will get valuable exposure by spending $200,000 in support of a high-profile golf event to be held in Halifax.

Glen Arbour Golf Course will host the 20th anniversary Telus World Skins Game from July 29 to 31 next summer.

Percy Paris said Monday the event will be an opportunity to showcase Nova Scotia to the world.

He said the province's contribution will go towards marketing and advertising the event.

The Tourism Department said the province will get air time during the broadcast, but couldn't say how much.

Paris said the event probably wouldn't have come to the province without the support of government.
