See Georges Island like you've never seen it before.

The drone video gives viewers a unique perspective on the national historic site, located in the middle of Halifax Harbour.

The island has long been something of a mystery to locals and visitors alike as it's rarely open to the public.

The island has served as a military fort and garrison since the British founded the city in 1749. Its storied history includes serving as a final disembarkation point for Acadians expelled from Nova Scotia in the 18th century.

Thanks to Gary Brinton of Brinton Photography for providing the video.
