A long-term care facility is closed to visitors as the flu makes the rounds in parts of the hospital in Windsor.

Capital Health stepped up precautions at Haliburton Place on Monday.

The facility is housed within the Hants Community Hospital, where some patients have been sick with Influenza A.

Unit 500, known as the transitional care unit, has been closed to visitors since Friday. An exception is made for compassionate reasons.

Capital Health urges anyone who's sick to avoid visiting a nursing home.
