A new show at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia starring the Flesh Dress is exploring the concept of skin.
Skin: The Seduction of Surface, hosts a thought-provoking array of sculptures exploring race, religion, identity and sexuality. One of the more famous works is Vanitas: Flesh Dress for an Albino Anoretic by Jana Sterbak.
"If the work is very successful, then it always raises some questions," the Montreal artist told a befuddled Rob Gordon of the CBC.
Sterbak won a 2012 Governor General's Award in Visual Arts and Media for her work.
