Fishermen escape burning boat
Two people are safe after fleeing a burning fishing boat last night in the Bay of Fundy, near Grand Manan Island.
The rescue co-ordination centre in Halifax says the two reported a fire and jumped into a life-raft.
A Cormorant helicopter was dispatched. But a nearby fishing boat, Ocean Provider, got to the life-raft first.
The two fishermen were taken to Blacks Harbour, southwest of Saint John, N.B. They are said to be in good condition.
There is no word on what caused the fire.
