Fisherman flown to hospital after falling overboard
A 42-year-old fisherman was sent to hospital in Halifax after falling overboard from a boat in the waters off the South Shore on Monday morning.
RCMP said they got the call just before 8:30 a.m. that a man had fallen off a fishing vessel.
"He was brought back on board and then transported to shore," said Maj. Martel Thompson, spokesman for the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax.
He said the JRCC sent a Cormorant helicopter which flew the man from Port Mouton to Shearwater. He was then put into an ambulance en route to Halifax.
