An autobody shop on Peggys Cove Road in Seabright was destroyed in a fire Saturday.

The Halifax regional fire service tweeted about the blaze at Robinson's X-Treme Towing just before 11 a.m.

An hour later, the building was nearly gone and firefighters were trying to save what was left.

John Cunningham, station chief at Tantallon, said the fire was raging when crews arrived.

"The building is a total loss. It's been collapsing into itself for the last little bit," he said.

Cunningham said he didn't know what started the fire, but he confirmed that somebody was working at the shop at the time.

No one was hurt.

The owner is away in Alberta, the CBC's Paul Palmeter reported.
