Man killed in house fire near Antigonish

A 76-year-old man is dead after a fire last night in North Grant, N.S., a community near the town of Antigonish.

A 76-year-old man is dead after a house fire in the community of North Grant, N.S., near the Town of Antigonish, according to the RCMP. 

The fire broke out around 8 p.m. last night on Glenda Crescent. Neighbours reported the blaze.

The house was fully engulfed in flames when officers arrived, said an RCMP spokeswoman.

The home was completely destroyed.   

It's not clear what caused the fire. 

RCMP said the man who died lived in the home. 

Police along with the fire marshall's office and the medical examiner are investigating.
