Hants County house fire claims life of 40-year-old man

Windsor District RCMP are investigating a Cambridge, N.S., house fire on Saturday that took the life of a 40-year-old man. But they said the blaze is not being treated as suspicious.

Victim was only occupant in home on Highway 215

Windsor District RCMP are investigating a house fire in Cambridge, N.S. that claimed the life of a 40-year-old man on Saturday night.

RCMP got a call at around 5:30 p.m. to assist the Brooklyn Fire Department at blaze on Highway 215.

"The fire was extinguished, however, a preliminary investigation has revealed that a 40-year-old male was found deceased inside the residence," RCMP said. There has been no word on the cause of the fire.

The victim owned the one-story home and was the only person inside when the fire started, Cpl. Heidi Stephenson said. 

Fire officials have also been at the scene and say the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
