Early bird shoppers flock to stores
Nova Scotia stores open again for first time since before Christmas
The cold and the dark didn't prevent eager shoppers from lining up overnight for post-Christmas sales.
The Future Shop in Bakers Lake in Halifax opened at 6 a.m. Thursday, but people were waiting outside as early as midnight, the CBC's Phonse Jessome reported.
Dennis Walker, the store's general manager, called it the "Superbowl of retail."
Throughout most of Canada, post-Christmas sales began on Boxing Day.
In Nova Scotia, however, nearly all retail stores are restricted from opening until Dec. 27. Pharmacies and bookstores are the exception.
