Driver dies in highway crash near Linwood

A 68-year-old woman was killed Tuesday in a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in Nova Scotia's Antigonish County.

A 68-year-old woman was killed Tuesday in a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in Nova Scotia's Antigonish County.

RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger said the woman's car — which was travelling eastbound — left the road near Linwood at about 9:15 a.m.

The Antigonish County woman, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Leger said road conditions were good at the time of the crash.

A section of the highway was closed for a couple of hours while police investigated.
