Cyclist injured in hit and run

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a hit and run collision that injured a cyclist in Halifax Friday morning.

Police said a woman heading south on South Park Street was struck by a vehicle travelling in the same direction just after 10 a.m.

The cyclist said the vehicle hit her, pushing her to the ground at the Spring Garden Road intersection after she swerved to avoid it.

She was taken to hospital with what police believe to be non life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

Police are interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed the accident.
