The annual WIFT-AT Making Waves Conference will be held virtually over three days from March 25-27.

The Women in Film and Television – Atlantic's (WIFT-AT) event offers presentations, screenings, workshops, panel discussions, spotlight conversations and networking opportunities.

The conference attracts influential movers and shakers in the film and entertainment industries, who come to discuss both the art and business of developing projects for film and television.

It's an opportunity to celebrate, empower and connect industry professionals and to participate in WIFT-AT's ongoing efforts to expand representation and gender equity in film and television.

The conference is an opportunity for film, television and screen-based media professionals from a variety of roles to come together and learn about the industry.

This year WIFT-AT welcomes new executive director Joanne Kerrigan.

CBC has been a longtime supporter of Women in Film and Television and this conference.

Be sure to check out the many virtual webinars, including The Secrets of Writing Hit TV Series, presented by Cynthia Knight, co-creator and showrunner of the award-winning dramatic comedy series Mohawk Girls, which is currently streaming on CBC Gem.  The webinar takes place on Sunday, March 27, from 3-5 p.m. ADT.

This webinar will unveil the main difference between writing for film and writing for television. Participants will discover the secrets of professional TV writing - how to make a good concept great, how to craft a series that will last for many seasons, that will excite broadcasters and entertain audiences.
