Police investigating after man in car seen shooting at another car in Cole Harbour

Witness said a man was leaning far out the window of one car, shooting at occupants in the car ahead of it.

Shooting incident happened Wednesday afternoon on Circassion Drive

Halifax RCMP are appealing to the public for help after a shooting incident in Cole Harbour Wednesday.

It happened just before 5 p.m. on Circassion Drive. In a news release, police say a suspect was firing a rifle from the passenger seat of a gold, beige or brown car. It appeared he was aiming at a white or silver four-door car and both vehicles were driving at a high rate of speed. 

Police said the windows of the car with the gunman were tinted and no description of the driver is available.

A woman who witnessed the shooting and asked not to be identified said she heard at least four shots and said the gunman was leaning out the window of the car. The woman said the shooting happened near Robert K. Turner Elementary School and children were present in the area.

There are no reports of any injuries.
