Coldbrook-area crash on Highway 101 kills 1 man, hospitalizes 2

An 81-year-old man has died after the SUV he was driving crashed on Highway 101 near Coldbrook, according to RCMP.

Police say they were alerted to the crash around 5:55 p.m. Tuesday

An 81-year-old man has died after the SUV he was driving crashed on Highway 101 near Coldbrook, according to RCMP. 

Police say before 5:55 p.m., the SUV and a smaller vehicle were involved in a head-on collision. 

Two adult occupants of the other vehicle have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Highway 101 is closed to traffic, which is being diverted to exits 13 and 14.

Police expect that section of highway will be closed for the rest of the evening.
